Muttley is looking for an experienced owner who will be fully committed to working on his basic training. He will require access to a private garden so he has another space to decompress. He would like to be the only pet though could live with dog savvy teenagers who won’t be worried by his boisterous behaviour.

Muttley is a friendly boy with a huge personality who loves saying hello to everyone he meets, whether they are ready for it or not! He is an excitable lad who has lacked consistency and guidance in his life so far and, while he means no harm, he is still learning his basic manners and life skills. When Muttley becomes frustrated or overwhelmed, he can be vocal and may jump up or become grabby in his excitement so he is looking for a patient and committed owner who can provide clear guidance in helping him learn more appropriate ways to manage his emotions. As a typical Labrador, food is one of his greatest motivations, which will be a real advantage when it comes to his ongoing training. He enjoys an active lifestyle and loves running, playing, and using his brain. He particularly enjoys enrichment activities, especially a tasty filled Kong.

Muttley has made some doggy friends during his time with us and is capable of walking alongside other dogs, although he can be full-on in his interactions. He can continue to enjoy doggy friendships in his new home, but he will need to be the only pet. This will allow his new family to focus on his training, giving him the guidance and consistency he needs to grow into the wonderful companion we know he can be.

Muttley has had veterinary treatment. More information about his medical history will be discussed with successful applicants.
