Sandler is looking for a quiet home, with an experienced owner who have a good understanding of body language. He will require access to his own private garden, so he has another space to enjoy to himself. He needs to be the only pet in an adult only home where there are no visiting children.

Sandler is a real character whose favourite pastime is playing with his tennis ball. He is full of energy, enthusiasm and would happily spend all day chasing after his toys or exploring the world with his nose to the ground, sniffing out every interesting smell he comes across. He is friendly with people, enjoys attention and is always partial to a tummy rub or a bum scratch when the mood takes him.

Whilst Sandler has many of the wonderful qualities of the Labrador as a breed, it is important to highlight that he is not your typical family Lab. Sadly, due to negative experiences in his past, he has developed behaviours where he feels the need to protect items he considers valuable, particularly food. As a result, he is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable owner who are confident in reading his body language and respect his boundaries.

To give Sandler the best chance of settling successfully into his new home, he will need a consistent routine and a quiet space of his own where he can relax and decompress when needed. Despite his quirks, Sandler has the potential to thrive and become a loyal, fun and rewarding companion for the person willing to give him that chance.

Sandler has had veterinary treatment during his stay and he is currently on a special diet. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.
