More about Duke
Duke is looking for a rural home with an active family who have previous experience with spaniels and understand the physical and mental enrichment he will need to thrive. He would love access to a secure garden where he can burn off some of his boundless energy and would like to be kept company for most of the day. Duke may be able to live with older children and another dog, pending successful introductions.
Duke is a typical springer spaniel in many ways; confident, affectionate, happy go lucky, full of energy and eager to make friends with everyone meets. He is however an extremely busy boy, more so than most spaniels, and is always ready for life’s next adventure. He would be best suited to a knowledgeable home who have had spaniels before, so they can fully appreciate how full on and enthusiastic the breed can be. He can find city life overwhelming and is used to living in quieter areas so would much prefer a rural lifestyle. An active family who can provide him with the fun filled life he craves or a home where he can put his incredible sense of smell to good use through scent work, tracking activities, or other enrichment-based training would be ideal.
He is still working on his basic manners such as recall and lead work though is very eager and keen to learn so training him will be a lot of fun for his new family. Duke does get on well with other dogs and may be happy to live with one who matches his energy.
