Chance is looking for a home away from the hustle and bustle of city life with an experienced owner who will continue working on his training. He would like access to a private garden, so he has a safe space to enjoy to himself. He would like to be the only pet though may be able to live with dog savvy teenagers.

Chance is a sweet boy who can be a little unsure of new people to start with though comes around quickly enough when allowed to take things at his pace. Once he has gotten to know you his loving, affectionate side shows and he is incredibly loyal. He is full of energy and loves having something to do: he will be ideal for an active family who will take him hill walking, running or perhaps agility.

Chance can be reactive around other dogs; however, with an experienced owner who is confident in handling him, he is able to walk alongside them. His new owner will need to understand that his social skills with other dogs are still a work in progress and it is important that Chance is given plenty of time to settle and decompress in his new home first before any training around other dogs begins. Things need to be taken slowly so his new owner will need to be commited to the process in the long term.

For this reason, he would be best suited to walks in quieter areas where he is less likely to become overwhelmed by his environment, allowing him to not only to remain calm and build positive experiences around other dogs but also for both him and his owner to enjoy walks.

Chance really is a wonderful boy who just needs someone to understand him and his insecurities. There is no doubt he will make a lovely companion.

Chance is currently taking in part in some extra training with the Paws for Progress team in their rescue dog training programme at HMYOI Polmont.
