Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home gets a new CEO!

On the 1st December, we welcomed Amelia Morgan as our new Chief Executive Officer. Amelia joins our organisation at a crucial time as we’ve launched our most important Winter Appeal to date in the face of unprecedented demand for our service.

Amelia brings more than 20 years of leadership experience from the charity and public sectors, including senior roles at Venture Trust, Yorkshire Universities and Scottish Canals.

Her background in organisational development, community support and strategic leadership will help guide the Home as it supports an increasing number of animals and owners who are seeking help.

Amelia Morgan commented on her appointment, saying:

‘The Home has an amazing track record, and the work of the team is truly life-changing in supporting and caring for dogs and cats in need of loving homes. I believe strongly in compassion for animals and the joy of having dogs and cats as part of the family. I am delighted to be joining the Home at such a critical time, to build on these foundations so more dogs and cats are loved, safe and happy.’

We’re delighted to welcome Amelia to the team

Matt Smith and Jo Talbot, Co-Chairs of the Board of Trustees, said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Amelia as our new CEO. Her wealth of experience and proven leadership will guide the Home into its next chapter. She will enhance our capacity to meet the growing need for our services while remaining true to our mission of protecting and supporting dogs and cats, and the people who care for them.’

We would also like to express our deep heartfelt gratitude to Jamie Simpson, who as our Interim CEO has provided excellent leadership and stability during a challenging time for the Home when demand on our services continues to grow.

As she steps into her new role, Amelia will lead the Home’s ongoing mission to run a loving Home, find loving homes and protect loving homes across East and Central Scotland.
