How You’ll Help

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home first set up its food bank in 2019 and now operates over 70 food banks East and Central Scotland, supporting thousands of pets each month to keep them in loving homes.

Demand for support through our pet food bank has never been higher, with thousands of pets being supported each month. We rely on donations from businesses and supporters to supply this service and allow us to continue to support those most in need. Pet food donation stations are vital to the Home and our mission of keeping pets in loving homes.

What We Need

For pet owners who are in financial difficulties, the everyday care of a beloved pet can be one of the most deeply stressful aspects of daily life. It’s not just pet food we need to support them, but a range of other products that can help keep pets warm, safe and leading enriched lives.

Items that can be donated via donation stations include:

  • Unopened packets of dog and cat food – dry food, tins and sachets
  • Dog coats in all sizes
  • Leads and harnesses
  • Dog muzzles
  • Cat toys and treats
  • Balls and dog toys and treats
  • Kongs
  • Poo bags and dispensers
