Lily's Story: Love at last!
Lily was first brought to us in 2022 when her owners could no longer cope with her care, she spent a few months with us, stealing the hearts of our cattery team, before being rehomed again.
She spent a very happy year in that home but was sadly returned to us when her owner passed away. Lily would spend a few more months in our care and be rehomed and returned one more time before finally settling in her forever home with Ann.
Lily is living her best life in her new home with her new sister, Milly.
Ann tells us about Lily’s cutest quirk, ‘Her most favourite thing in the whole world is when you open the door so she can go racing into the garden and flop over with her belly out. And she talks to you, if you ask her what she’s doing, she’ll just meow while she’s lying there.’
In 2022, Ann rehomed Milly from us shortly after losing her two beloved cats who she’d had for 18 years. Milly settled in well, but Ann worried that she was bored at times;
‘Milly was moping around the house a lot. I work full-time from home and I don’t always have time to throw her wee toys and play with her so we thought she’d do well with another cat.’
Milly and Lily love chasing each other round the house.
Ann introduced the pair slowly and carefully, and before too long they were buddies, resembling ‘a herd of rhinos racing around the house chasing each other when the weather is too miserable for them to go out in the garden.’
Lily likes to lie on the end of Ann’s desk while she’s working. She’s sociable, loves getting her ears scratched and likes to be around people.
Ann tells us, ‘She’s very affectionate and she likes to be close to you, she’s always sitting under your chair. She’s also very forgiving if you accidentally trip over her, which happens a lot because she always likes to be so close!’
