Generous and life-saving donation from St Andrews First Aid
In May this year, we had a visit from Jim Dorman, Director of Operations and Community Engagement, from St Andrews First Aid who generously donated a defibrillator.
Jim said; ‘St Andrew’s First Aid is delighted to support Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home by donating a defibrillator which will benefit staff, visitors and the surrounding businesses and community by having this life-saving device publicly available in the event of a cardiac emergency.’
‘Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s commitment to public safety and awareness is further exemplified by agreeing to deliver some community engagement activities to provide the necessary resuscitation skills including how to use a defibrillator in partnership with St Andrew’s First Aid.’
We’re delighted to be able to share this important and potentially lifesaving resource with the local community.
Business Facilities Manager, Lynsey McGreavey, told us ‘Our defib will be in our reception area and will be made accessible to the public whilst we are open. This is a valued addition to the Home and the local community.’
A huge thank you to the wonderful St Andrews First Aid for their generous donation and continued support.
