Your generosity enables hundreds of dogs and cats to receive the love, care and protection they deserve.

Why we need your help

This year we’ve seen a record number of animals come in, almost 400 admissions, alongside record high costs.

It’s only thanks to the kindness of people like you that we can keep going. It’s thanks to you that our dogs and cats can live happy lives, filled with love and warmth.

Meet Mary

She came to us in September 2023 as a stray. She was found on the street, and we discovered she was also pregnant. Four weeks later she gave birth to six precious pups. They all had a great start to life with us, before being rehomed successfully.

Mary is just one of hundreds of dogs whose lives are completely transformed thanks to the generosity of people who donate. People just like you. Read Mary’s story here.

What your donation means

When you donate to Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home, you’re donating hope, warmth and care.

Without you, over 200 dogs and cats would’ve missed out on a life filled with love, this year alone.

For over 140 years we’ve given pets a second chance at life, and that’s all thanks to you, our supporters.

So, just know that however much you donate, it makes a world of difference to dogs and cats who just want to be loved.

Donations help us to…

Protect loving homes
We provided 23,225 pets with one week’s food to help keep them in their homes.
Find loving homes
We rehomed 218 dogs and cats in the last year.
Run a loving Home
It costs £7,000 every day to run our loving Home for dogs and cats.
