Former Chair, Doreen Graham, to be awarded MBE!
Doreen has committed her career to promoting and advocating for animal welfare and she’s being awarded an MBE in recognition of this incredible work. She said, ‘To be honoured for something you have had so much pleasure doing is special.’
With a background in journalism, Doreen spent time as the press and campaigns manager for the Scottish Wildlife Trust before spending 13 years in this role at the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty for Animals.
She also led the team which pioneered a campaign to highlight the link between animal cruelty and domestic violence against humans.
During her time with us, Doreen’s skills, expertise and support have been integral to the launch and success of our pet food banks.
She recently stepped down from her role as Chair at the Home saying, ‘Animals enrich our lives, and I am very proud to have been a part of Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’.
We are delighted for Doreen whose incredible passion and determination has long been a driving force and an inspiration for us at the Home. Congratulations on a very well-deserved award!
