Corporate Volunteering

If you and your team are interested in supporting Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home – you've come to the right place! We truly value the skills, experience, and support we receive from our local business community.

While we currently do not have any Corporate Volunteer Days available at the Home at present, we offer several other meaningful ways for you and your team to get involved and make a positive impact.

Bespoke Skills & Personal Development Courses

We offer two Skills & Personal Development Courses that can be delivered at your business, group or workplace:

Dog First Aid

This course covers the basics of dog first aid, helping your team prepare for common dog emergencies. This course is regulated by SQA accreditation, and your staff will receive a certificate from the SQA on completion of the course.

Dog Body Language

This course is perfect for businesses that either already have or are planning to create a dog-friendly workplace. It helps your team develop a deeper understanding of what dogs are trying to communicate. By gaining these skills, transitioning to or maintaining a dog-friendly workspace becomes easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

The course also equips individuals with the knowledge of how to create a positive environment for both people and pets.

Both courses are open to everyone, at all skill levels and can be delivered either at your office (in a meeting room) or at the Home here at Seafield, depending on availability. We’ll also talk to your group about the work we do here at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.

By signing up for these courses, you’ll not only be directly supporting the vital work we do at the Home but also providing your staff with a valuable new skill. There’s a fee associated with both courses to cover the cost of the training, and we’d be happy to discuss pricing based on your preferred location.

Other Ways to Support Us

Host a Pet Food Drive

You could host a Pet Food Drive at your business and encourage staff, guests, and partners to donate essential pet supplies. Drives are a crucial part of our work, and we are desperately in need of pet food donations for our pet food banks, which help local families struggling to feed their beloved pets.

For more information and to download our Pet Food Drive promotional pack, which includes everything you need to host a Pet Food Drive including posters, social media assets and more, visit: Pet Food Drive

Suggested donations include unopened dog and cat food (wet or dry), leads, collars, toys, jackets, and blankets. Please note, we are unable to accept pillows or duvets, as these are single-use items and cannot be washed on site.

Register Your Interest in Corporate Volunteering

While we currently don’t have any Corporate Volunteering opportunities available, we’d love to hear from you! Please email us at fundraising@edch.org.uk to register your organisation’s interest. We’ll be sure to notify you as soon as any opportunities arise.

You can also check out our Corporate & Partnerships page and find out more ways to support the Home including Payroll Giving, Hosting Fundraising events, what it means by making us your Charity Partner and more!
