Marketing Executive

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is seeking a talented and passionate Marketing Executive to join its Communication Team. 

An excellent communicator, you will provide day-to-day support, management and direction to your cross-organisational colleagues on all areas of marketing. Whether it's helping the fundraising team put together a killer campaign for our Christmas appeal, or working with our kennel team to develop rehoming success stories, you will ensure the Home's profile continues to grow across Edinburgh and the Lothians and help us reach our goal of rescuing, reuniting and rehoming all dogs and cats who need a second chance.

Events Coordinator (Community)

Part time (18 hours per week, over three days)

Salary: £25,000 pro rata

Are you an experienced events professional with a passion for community fundraising?

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the fundraising team at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to join us as Events Coordinator (Community). You will be responsible for managing the Home’s annual portfolio of community fundraising events including our pub quiz, ceilidh, car boot sales, our famous Paws by the Prom open day and more!

This is an incredibly busy role so we are looking for someone with strong organisational skills who can prioritise and build volunteer support to help them maximise opportunity in their area. To succeed, you will need to be a real people person and a passion for animal welfare is a bonus as you will be running many pet friendly events!

This role is part time and we will negotiate the working hours and days with the successful candidate.

Events Coordinator (Corporate)

Are you an experienced events professional with a passion for corporate fundraising?

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the fundraising team at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to join us as Events Coordinator (Corporate). You will be responsible for managing the Home’s annual portfolio of corporate fundraising events including our flagship ‘In the Dog House’ event, summer soiree, Christmas reception as well as supporting the fundraising management team on the development of fundraising lunches, balls and dinners.

This is an incredibly busy role so we are looking for someone with strong organisational skills who can prioritise and build volunteer support to help them maximise opportunity in their area. To succeed, you will need to be a real people person who can manage and influence suppliers, venues and contractors.

This role is part time and we will negotiate the working hours and days with the successful candidate.

Senior Media and Public Affairs Officer

Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £30,000

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is seeking an exceptional individual to join its expanding communications team in the role of Senior Media and Public Affairs Officer. With a creative flair and written and verbal communication skills that are second-to-none, they will help take Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s media presence to the next level, offering a spotlight to our rescue animals who desperately need forever homes, and a voice and a second chance to those we have yet to reach. 

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for a newsworthy story and be able to pitch it effectively to the media. They will be a confident and eloquent representative of the Home’s mission, helping us to engage with our sector colleagues and influence animal welfare legislation in Scotland.

Community Fundraiser (East)

Full Time, Maternity Cover (up to 12 months)
Salary: £25,000

Are you an experienced Fundraiser with a passion for building relationships and raising funds in your local community? Do you have a knack for identifying opportunities and maximising support? If so we need you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the fundraising team at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to join us as Community Fundraiser (East), working alongside our Community Fundraiser (West) and the wider fundraising team. Covering Edinburgh, East Lothian and Mid Lothian (split by postcode) you will be responsible for generating support for the Home through volunteering, community events such as gala days and exhibitions, building relationships with individuals, local business, groups and schools as well as growing our Companion and kennel/cat pen sponsorship programmes within your patch.

This is an incredibly busy role so we are looking for someone with strong organisational skills who can prioritise and build volunteer support to help them maximise opportunity in their area. To succeed, you will need to be a real people person with a passion for animal welfare.

This role is a maternity-cover for up to one year, however please note that due to the current growth of the fundraising department, future opportunities may arise for a permanent role.
