The Home Wins Marketing Campaign of the Year at the Edinburgh Business Awards

Star

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home are excited to announce we won Marketing Campaign of the Year category at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2020.

We were nominated for our appeal to find “the UK’s unluckiest dog” a forever home. Staffordshire bull terrier Star was brought to the Home in 2013 after the police found him tied up and abandoned. He hadn’t had a good start in life and the Home’s staff worked tirelessly to help Star recover from his physical ailments and heal his mental scars.

However, the years passed, and Star kept being overlooked so we launched a special campaign to find him a loving home. And while it was fantastic to get coverage in magazines and newspapers and on the radio across the UK (including BBC News, STV News, The Herald, The Metro, Forth 1 FM, The Express, Edinburgh Evening News, Daily Record and The List) the biggest and best result of all was that Star found a new owner.

Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, Interim CEO at Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home, said:

“We are thrilled to have won this award. We would like to say a big thank you to Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce and the judges for recognising the hard work and effort that went into this campaign and our mission to find homes for lost and abandoned animals across Edinburgh and the Lothians. This award is for everyone who contributed to the campaign and all the team at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home who work so hard training and looking after the many animals in our care, like Star, who just need a chance to be the best pet they can be.”
