Do you want to make a difference to the lives of dogs and cats across Edinburgh and the Lothians through fundraising, attending events and more? The “Friend of the Home” volunteer groups allow you to volunteer in a supported environment, whilst being supported by other volunteers and by the Home dedicated staff. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved with:
You will be provided with training and support from the Home, whilst also having the opportunity to let your own experience shine through your individual tasks. Each volunteer group consist of all types of experience and backgrounds so there’s always something new to learn. You do not need fundraising or events experience but having a passion for fundraising and events is desired.

Micro volunteering at the Home is currently on hold however if you wish to help the dogs and cats in our care by taking part in a challenge event, virtual race or marathon or fundraising event then please get in touch.
This role is ideal for those who may be short of time and can’t commit but are eager to do something to help. As a micro volunteer you may share a story or hashtag, complete online surveys and help spread the word about fundraising, events and volunteering at the Home.
The beauty of this role is it’s completely flexible and can be done anytime anywhere. Micro volunteering is convenient and doesn’t require any ongoing commitment and can be done from the comfort of your own home!
From signing a petition or retweeting a message to helping with valuable research projects.
By becoming a micro volunteer your small actions will help make a big difference to the hundreds of dogs and cats that come through our door every year.
