Weekend Reception Support Volunteer

Opportunity Details:                 

This role offers the opportunity to support a local animal welfare charity as part of our front of house team welcoming and assisting the public and their animals.

Responsible to:                        

Rehoming Customer Support Lead

Key Tasks:

  • Supporting the front of house team with in-kind donations (possible heavy lifting)
  • Managing paddock bookings, escorting members of the public to and from our dog parks
  • Welcome and assist the public/visitors.
  • Preparing emergency food packs for our pet foodbank
  • Cleaning communal areas and touch point cleaning

Hours:                                  

Flexible involvement: 1 day or one-half day per week.

Saturday 9am – 12.30pm or;

Saturday 12.30pm-4.30pm or;

Sunday 9am – 12.20pm or;

Sunday 12.30pm-4.30pm

Training:                             

Induction Training: Full organisation and role induction provided.

Pet Care Clinic Volunteer

Role Description

Role Title:                             

Pet Care Clinic Volunteer

Location:                               

Edinburgh

Opportunity Details:            

This role offers the opportunity for a volunteer to support vulnerable members of the community in providing accessible advice, care and signposting for best practice in caring for their pet. The Pet Care Clinics will run at multiple sites across Edinburgh in line with our Pet Food Banks.

This role requires the volunteer to have prior knowledge of pet care and therefore may be best suited to someone who has worked with dogs previously or is currently studying an animal related course.

Responsible to:                    

Education Officer

 Key Tasks:                            

  • Provide information, advice and signposting on pet care to the local community
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals within the community

Hours:                                   

One 3 hour shift per month. Clinics will run Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. 2 volunteers required each day. Availability can be discussed.

Training:                               

Full training will be provided.

Experience with dog handling

Knowledgeable in advising in all elements of pet ownership
