Telephone Fundraising

We are currently working with Unity4, a professional telephone agency to support our fundraising activities during this challenging time to call supporters of Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to ask for a financial donation. Unity4 will be calling over 7,000 of our warmest supporters (rehomers, boarders, retail donors and fundraisers) to update them about our work and to ask for support with a regular gift or a one-off gift.

Why are we doing this?

We made the decision to work with an agency to support our fundraising. As much as we would like to, we cannot make these calls ourselves with the small number of staff we have at the Home. You can be rest assured that the team at Unity4 have undertaken training and know all about the work of the Home. Like us, they know that our work wouldn’t be possible without your support.

It costs us over £2.7 million every year to provide our vital care for stray, lost and abandoned dogs and cats. With the absence of any government or statutory funding, individual donations and support from our local community are vital to continue our work. This type of fundraising is a cost effective, low risk method of generating new support for the Home.

How do I know they are genuine fundraisers?

All calls will come from the telephone number 0131 341 2076 and the staff will have an ID number.

If you have any concerns about the legitimacy of a fundraiser please call us on 0131 669 5331 and we will be able to verify this for you. You can also send your questions to fundraising@edch.org.uk.

Any questions?

If you have any other questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact our team on at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. Please remember to include your name and contact telephone number so that we can call you back.

We realise that sometimes we might get it wrong and we truly value all feedback about our work. We believe that complaints are an opportunity to learn and improve and it is important that you tell us so we can deal with any situation as quickly as possible.
