Appeal to ‘Look Twice’ at Our Longest Resident

A Scottish pet rescue centre has appealed to the public to take a second look at one of their longest residents, in hope that they might finally find him a home.

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home launched the appeal after finding that Leo (6), a Staffie, had been continuously overlooked by visitors. Leo first entered the Home in 2014, and has since struggled to find his perfect owner.

Lindsay Fyffe-Jardine, Director of Operations and Deputy CEO at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, said:

“Second looks are not something Leo is terribly familiar with. Our customers come in, they glance, and move on to the cute face in the next kennel. We want to show the public that Leo is worth a second look, and like so many brown Staffies currently in rescue centres, he also deserves a loving forever home of his own.

“Today Leo has been with us 1484 days. That is far too long. He needs a person of his own to bond with and give all his affection to – we know he has so much to give.”

Leo struggles with some anxieties, and has been working really hard on his training and socialisation. He needs a dedicated owner to carry on with this. Leo would prefer a quieter home, where he will be the only pet, and may suit living with older teenagers. To find out more, please visit us at 26 Seafield Road East, Edinburgh.
