More about Troy

Troy has bow been matched to several applicants so we are no longer accepting interest for him.

Troy is looking for a quiet household with an experienced owner who have had nervous dogs before and will keep him company all day to help him settle. He will need direct access to his own private garden so has a safe space to enjoy outdoors if he feels too overwhelmed to go for walks. He could live with older teenagers and would greatly benefit from living with a calm, confident dog.

Troy is a deeply kind but extremely sensitive boy who needs a predictable home with an owner who has the patience to take things very slowly with him. He has not experienced what most dogs would consider a normal life and has had limited exposure to everyday environments and experiences- even stairs are scary for him. As a result, he is easily overwhelmed so requires constant support and a good routine with minimal change to help him adjust to life in a home. His new owner will need to understand that there may be days where Troy does not feel comfortable enough to go for a walk so having a garden where he can enjoy the outdoors in the safety of his home will be needed.

Despite his worries, he has the sweetest nature and much prefers human attention over playing with toys. He responds well to calm reassurance and food which will help him feel better when in new situations. Troy does enjoy the company of other dogs and our team think it would be a huge benefit to him if he could live with a confident dog who can help show him the ways. For someone willing to offer kindness and understanding, he will be an incredibly rewarding companion.

Troy is on medication for arthritis which he will have to remain on for the rest of his life. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.
