Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home is closely monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We are currently following the World Health Organisation, UK and Scottish Government and NHS Scotland’s advice.
We know that many people in our community will be struggling financially due to the outbreak. We want to make sure we can help keep pets in happy families wherever possible and for that reason our pet foodbank is currently still operating seven days a week. As we are not open for visitors, please call our reception team on 0131 669 5331 if you would like to use this service and they will discuss arrangements with you.
The foodbank offers wet and dry food, jackets, collars, leads, bowls and bedding. Our dedicated and passionate staff will also be on hand to offer pet care advice as part of this service.
Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home cared for 2,367 dogs and 771 cats in 2018, many came from loving homes and families. Social problems such as financial issues, illness, homelessness and domestic abuse can all mean people might struggle to feed or look after their pet. We hope the pet foodbank will help empower owners to continue to care for their own animals.
To use our pet foodbank, please drop into our offices on Seafield Road East, EH15 1EH.
Please note: not all items will be available at all times in the foodbank. We cannot guarantee that we will have the specific products, quantities and sizes that you may request.
