Following the recent changes to government guidelines, Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home has made several amendments to its various services and operations.
We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone with a lot of uncertainty. Rest assured we have an emergency contingency plan in place to ensure all animals at the Home receive the food and care they need in the event of a crisis.
Due to the recent government announcement we are complying with restrictions on social interaction and rehoming is now closed. Our lines remain open seven days a week if you wish to enquire about any animals on site or make a donation.
We know that many people in our community will be struggling financially due to the ongoing crisis. We want to make sure we can help keep pets in happy homes wherever possible and for that reason our pet foodbank is still operating seven days a week. As we are not open for visitors, please call our reception team on 0131 669 5331 if you would like to use this service and they will discuss arrangements with you. – Pet Foodbank
Paddocks By The Prom
Paddocks By The Prom remains open to public but will be strictly limited to two people from a single household. Please call us on 0131 669 5331 if you require any further information. – Paddocks By The Prom
Dropping Off Donations
Donations can be dropped at the Home during opening hours. There are designated collection bins outside the main entrance door. If you are donating a large item or items that take up lots of space, please call ahead on 0131 669 5331. – Donations
Want to Help
Thank you so much for thinking of us during this difficult time. Access to the site will be limited in order to help keep the staff as healthy as possible which also means we cannot have volunteers on site.
Several people have asked about fostering animals. While we really appreciate your support we don’t have a fostering program, but rest assured we have provisions in place to ensure the animals are always looked after.
The best way you could help us right now would be to make a financial donation, if you are able to do so. With the cancellation of events and the temporary closure of rehoming, the Home has sadly experienced a significant drop in donations and income. If you are able to support the Home at this difficult time, we would be grateful for your donation to help us continue our work. You can make a donation here.
