Partnerships, both new and long-standing, are the backbone of the vital services provided by Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. Find out more about our key relationships within our community.

Abercorn Vets

In 2019 Abercorn Vets, in partnership with Braid Vets, became Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home’s veterinary providers. Like the Home they have a long history of serving the local community, having been established over 50 years ago with their first surgery in Portobello. Their close proximity to the Home means our animals will have quick and easy access to exceptional medical care. Abercorn have since opened other surgeries located in Raeburn Place, Stockbridge and Gilmerton.

Braemore Sales and Lettings

Braemore Sales & Lettings have been great supporters of Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. Scott Webster, the Head of Estate Agency won the 2018 Top Dog Title at our In The Dog House event, raising an incredible £1,863 over the course of a day. The Home is now Charity of the Year 2019 for Braemore and they’ll be donating £5 for every home sold over the year. Also look out for Braemore at; Dog Jog, Business 5’s and the Homes Car Boot Sales

Braid Vet

Braid vets are a much-respected practice within the Edinburgh community, and along with Abercorn Vets make up the Home’s veterinary partners. Braid Veterinary Hospital was the first veterinary hospital to be registered in Scotland by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has particular interests in the fields of veterinary surgery, dentistry, internal medicine and behavioural problems.

Camera Obscura & World of Illusions

Camera Obscura & World of Illusions is Edinburgh oldest purpose built visitor attraction, established in its current location in 1853. With 5 floors and over 100 interactive exhibits, the experience delights guests of all ages from all over the world. As a dog friendly visitor attraction, the team at Camera Obscura are excited to help raise funds towards the fantastic work of the EDCH during 2020.

Crafty Kit Company

The Crafty Kit Company are very proud to support Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, we donate 10% to the Home from every Miniature Wirehaired Dachshund Needle Felting Kit.We are glad to be supporting the Home in achieving their mission of Rescuing, Reuniting and Rehoming Dogs and Cats.


Forrit are a technology company who have supported EDCH for a number of years.  Through fundraising activities, volunteering, attending fundraisers and offering us use of their office space, Forrit help ensure the Home can continue its vital work.  In 2018, Forrit Founder and CEO Peter joined the Home’s Board of Trustees, offering his expertise.

Gilson Gray LLP

Gilson Gray LLP have been supporting Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home since 2018. Murray Stewart, Partner and Head of Real Estate, serves on our Board of Trustees and has participated in the Home’s In The Dog House event, raising an incredible £1,764. Keep an eye out for our new partnership with the North Berwick branch of Gilson Gray.

GWS Photography

GWS have teamed up with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, and are offering donations from photoshoots! For every doggy or family shoot that books in and has a portrait at the GWS Studio at East Links Family Park through one of the EDCH sign up cards – or just mentions they would like to support the Home – GWS will donate £5.


Last year, our pals over at Heehaw created some brilliant films for us – they were even nominated for the Partnership of the Year award at Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce’s Business Awards! We got some of Scotland’s top talent involved in the form of comedian Iain Stirling and actresses Laura Main and Karen Dunbar, as well as worldwide running sensation Dion Leonard – known for the heart-warming tale of Finding Gobi.

Lighthouse North Berwick

The Lighthouse is North Berwick’s first, bespoke-build business centre that offers coworking space, fixed desks and private offices for established business, entrepreneurs and start-ups. As a dog friendly business The Lighthouse are delighted to help to spread knowledge of the great work of EDCH in East Lothian.

Merryhatton Garden Centre

Tucked away a short drive from Edinburgh’s city centre sits Merryhatton Garden Centre. They have chosen Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home as their Charity Partner of the Year for 2020 in loving memory of Lily the staffie who was rehomed from the Home. Head down to visit Mary and her lovely team.

Nicola Bald Photography

Nicola Bald photography are a local team of animal lovers, and will be offering a discounted price to anyone rehoming a pet, boarding or supporting the Home! As new 2020 Partners, Nicola Bald will be offering a £30 Pet and family photography shoot, with £5 from each booking being donated to the Home.

Persie Distillery

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home have partnered with Persie Distillery and will receive a £1 donation for every bottle of charity Pusscat Vodka sold.

Pusscat Vodka is an unflavoured premium vodka at 45% volume. It has a clean and round velvety mouthfeel, with faint hints of fresh herbs and a tiny pinch of black pepper. The finish is silky smooth – just like a pusscat!


With Petplan insurance in place, adopters can concentrate on getting to know their new companion, safe in the knowledge that financial help is available to cover the cost of any unexpected veterinary treatment as they start their adventure together.

Scallydog Edinburgh

Scallydog is an Edinburgh based pet accessories company who sell special neck ties and bandanas for dogs. They are a new partner in Summer 2019 and will be donating 10% of all of their bandana sales to the Home.

Scottish Design Exchange

Scottish Design Exchange is a local social enterprise supporting artists across Edinburgh and Glasgow. Over 2020, Scottish Design Exchange Edinburgh will be launching an art project in support of the Home, where artists will donate all profits from the project. This will also help us raise awareness in the local area.

Pets at Home

After an amazing partnership with the Pentland branch over 2019, the Home has been chosen as the 2020 charity partner for both the Craigleith and Corstorphine branch of Pets at Home.
This Support Adoption for Pets partnership means that the team are able to build awareness in the community and raising vital funds for the dogs and cats in our care.

Search Edinburgh

Search Consultancy is one of the UK’s leading recruitment consultancies. With offices in 15 locations nationwide, they place people at all levels across a wide range of commercial and industry sectors. This year, Search has selected the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home as one of their charity partners and will be volunteering at our Open day and Big Animal Pub Quiz. Zettle by PayPal

Zettle by PayPal is a Swedish company on a mission to help small businesses. The Edinburgh branch of iZettle is supporting Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home for a quarter this year, with internal events and fundraising initiatives.
