Fancy Dress Fire Walk

We'll be hosting our first ever Fire Walk event at the Home on Monday 30th October 2017.

Fire walking is a challenging yet exhilirating way to raise money. Not only are you doing an amazing thing for our animals but you're also doing a wonderful thing for yourself - if you can walk on hot coals, what can't you do?

The event will begin at 5pm, where our fundraising team will be waiting to greet you and to provide you with some nibbles before letting the team at Blaze take over.

Blaze introduced the concept of charity fire walking back in the 1980s. With over 25 years' experience, Blaze has worked with hundreds of charities and has impressive record. In addition to raising funds, Blaze has observed that participants find the experience to be empowering, inspirational and, most of all, good fun.

Professionalism and safety are the watchwords at Blaze, and their safety record is impeccable. The Blaze team is the most experienced in the UK, and their safety checks and procedures are second to none.

Blaze will begin the evening with a group training session. The training session is approximately two hours long and the Firemaster Instructor will teach you fire walking techniques using proven motivational and psychological methods.

After a short debrief around the fire bed you will be instructed to take your shoes and socks off and line up ready. Once the all-clear sign has been given by the head of the fire team, the instructor will send a member of Blaze across first, to make sure the fire bed feels correct and even. As soon as this is done, you will all, in turn, walk across the fire!

To make things even more fun, we're asking all of our participants to get dressed up as their favourite furry friend or movie character on the evening too. Who knows, there might even be a prize for best dressed!

We've put together some information about the science of fire walking and some FAQs. if you'd like to read them, click here

Find out just what you are capable of by walking 20ft across embers burning at 1236 degrees Fahrenheit. After all, if you can walk on fire, what else is possible?

Places cost just £30 to take part and we'd ask you to fundraise whatever you can. What are you waiting for?
